Our company started in 2000 as KB Appraisals, with one person (Brad), located out of a basement office in our home in Prior Lake, MN.  We did work for two (2) insurance companies at that time, just covering the Twin Cities Metro area.  We added two (2) more people in 2001, one to help with autos and one to work property files, due to an increase in work from a hail storm that hit the area that summer.  Kelly joined the company full-time in the Fall of 2001, changing careers from Commercial Property Development to running the Administrative and Marketing side of our company.  In early 2002 we acquired two (2) more accounts and were happy being a small independent company.  We took the plunge for growth potential by becoming a Doan & Company franchise in the summer of 2002.  We enjoyed the faster pace and we could see a slow growth that came with that decision but soon was ready for more.  In January of 2003, we began acquisition talks with one of our major competitors in the Twin Cities Metro area, Minnesota Auto Damage Appraisers (MADA) and Dependable Adjustment and became the proud owners of that company on March 1, 2003.  With that acquisition, we immediately increased our staff from three (3) to eleven (11), increased our customer service base from four (4) companies to approximately fifty (50) and increased our coverage area to include the entire State of Minnesota, some of Western Wisconsin and Eastern North Dakota.  Our biggest change came in May of 2004 when we became the largest independent appraising company in the Midwest and changed our name to Midwest Auto Damage Appraisers (MADA) and Dependable Adjustment.  MADA handles all auto, heavy equipment, motorcycles, boats, snowmobiles, other specialty vehicles and personal property claims, while Dependable Adjustment handles all property and CAT claims.  With an eye to continued growth and better customer service, our most recent change happened in March of 2006 when we relocated our Home Office from a cramped location in Richfield, Minnesota to a spacious, workflow-friendly location in Burnsville, Minnesota.  Today, MADA and Dependable Adjustment provides customer service to over seventy-five (75) Insurance Companies, covering all of Minnesota, Western Wisconsin, Eastern North Dakota and Northern Iowa with fourteen (14) appraisers and five (5) administrative/processing staff, which enable us to turn most of our assignments around in three (3) days or less.  We are looking in the near future to expand our coverage area to more of Wisconsin, North & South Dakotas, and Iowa.
